Resolved: Constant Error 10 Dropouts

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Updated by user May 21, 2025

Developer provided work around and is working on a fix.

Updated by user May 21, 2025

Good news. I've been able to work with the app developer and they have determined that there is an IPv6 integration issue with the app on certain smart TV'S.

By disabling IPv6 on my router and only having IPv4 enabled the Error 10 issue is gone and streaming is solid. The developer is working on a fix that won't involve having to disable IPv6.

Original review May 20, 2025

I subscribed to Sportsnet 6 days ago and have exchanged more than 60 messages with Rogers and Sportsnet technical support staff. The error, 'unable to connect to your account.

Please login again. (Error 10)' pops up every few minutes.

Rogers staff have concluded that it is an issue with the Sportsnet Android app because all my other streaming apps work well, and Sportsnet works fine streaming on Windows 10 with Chrome. I believe the Sportsnet app was created and is managed by 'Deltatre.' I have contacted them as well.

Such a poorly managed app

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Sportsnet is such a frustrating app to use, and it's painfully obvious that the developers do not watch sports on it! I've been a customer for 3 years, and it keeps getting worse.

While it's not as bad on an iPad or phone, watching on my TV, it only has slow-mo fast forward. It literally can take 5-10 minutes to fast forward to the 3rd period of a hockey game if you missed it. They used to have different speeds (i.e., 2X, 8X, 16X, or lightning speed), and then they dropped that feature this past year! Why??

It also constantly drops, and while watching a game, I can restart 3-5 times... every time having to slow-mo fast forward. Today I got home and wanted to watch the Oilers game. I went to the app, picked the replay, and it came up with the highlights and a ticket showing the score before I realized.

And I can't get into a game when I know the score. This has happened many times before. Who runs this show?

Get your crap together. It could be soooo much better.

Pros:
  • You get to watch choppy sports shows
Cons:
  • Constantly crashes and restarts
  • Are choppy

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: Find your sports elsewhere. If you're going to pay for it, make sure its at least good and customer centric

Absolute Garbage

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Simply the worst app I've ever used. Kicks out multiple times per game, every game (has never not happened), and there's no resume feature.

If you're behind, you're forced to either jump back in live and risk ruining your watching experience by finding out things you didn't want to find out that way or else restart from the beginning and fast forward in 10-second increments back to where you were. The worst app out there, bar none.

Preferred solution: Apology

User's recommendation: Avoid at all costs. It is hands down the worst app you’ll ever use.

Choice of play by play commentators

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Cuthbert and Simpson doing play-by-play for the Western Conference finals? C'mon Sportsnet, read the room.

The last thing Western viewers want or need is Eastern sportscasters doing the play-by-play. Besides Cuthbert's annoying halting delivery, they are woefully bereft of knowledge of Western teams. Get that clause out of their contracts. The job belongs to Western commentators and, in particular, if a team advances, so should their sportscasters.

Jack Michaels and Louie Debrusk are very knowledgeable and appreciated by Oiler fans. They deserve the gig. I watched the 3rd period (Game 1) with the sound off, as Cuthbert's annoying halting delivery and lack of knowledge of team dynamics was too painful to listen to.

They struggle for meaningful conversation that comes so naturally to Michaels/Debrusk. (Did I mention Cuthbert's annoying halting delivery?)

Monopoly

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

What is it with Sportsnet.

You have your own station; why the *** do you think you have every stream channel as well as other stations?

God damn it, who wants to jack up your price to $24.99 plus tax and then take over other stations so no one can watch our Leafs play for once? But no, you people don't make enough money as it is, so you have to deprive people of watching the Leafs unless you pay to use the Sportsnet channel and others that you have monopolized, so no one can stream. Then you freeze the channel that you were able to get, but Sportsnet freezes you, so you can't watch the game unless you pay.

Thanks a lot.

Pretty disgusting, disrespectful, and selfish, to say the least.

For $199.99/year, 55 cents a day, you get the Leafs, Blue Jays, Raptors, Premier League Soccer and more. If that is cost-prohibitive to your needs then move on.

But in reality you don't get any of those because if your watching it on anything but a phone/computer it's just a frozen screen with sound in the background, or crashes, or buffering even though it's already a delayed stream, stuck in 720p even though it's 2025. You get alot or choices for the $, but the quality/reliability of the product makes it seem like a scam.

It’s terrible quality…my internet is great but the streaming is unbelievably bad. I guess no competition

Can't boot other devices

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

My kids had left sportsnet signed in on devices somewhere and i couldn't get in to watch the game. Account settings give you no option to log out all devices.

I changed the password successfully but that still doesn't log out other devices which makes no sense... isn't that the point of a password? Emailed sportsnet and asked them to log out all devices, they said no they can't do it. I have to find the devices and log them out.

Thats a complete lie, of course sportsnet can wipe all my devices.

In the end I didn't get to watch a single second of round 2 game 1 Oil vs Vegas and still no resolution. Sportsnet is a joke.

Cons:
  • Terrible app
  • Terrible customer service
  • Terrible streaming quality

Preferred solution: A time machine so I can go back and watch the hockey game

User's recommendation: Sportsnet will screw you over knowing there's nothing you can do about it. Their streaming is incredibly glitchy and laggy.

It sounds like you should direct your anger at your irresponsible kids you raised. Are they hiking Everest that you can’t reach them? Maybe think twice about giving them the new password when you get your self-inflicted grievance resolved.

Price is absolutely ridiculous and streaming absolutely sucks. I get kicked off at least 4 times per hockey game.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

They've had these problems since day one and haven't fixed it. Will never use them again. Have market cornered on hockey so they hide the consumer with outrageous price and poor service.

NHL should be the one *** but when you see the referee's they have now you know it's all about the money not the product.

Worst customer service ever

Trying to cancel subscription. The website loops you round and round until you give up.

Intentional frustration tactic, to defeat cancelling subscriptions.

Shameful and unethical business practice. You cant call it customer service as it doesn't exist, it is the complete opposite, which i refer to as customer disservice.

Watching game 5 between Ottawa and Toronto. Ottawa wins 4-0, and at the end of the game, when they announced the final score, it resembled reading an obituary.

Ottawa just had a big shutout win, and it was pathetic and insulting how the announcer stated the final score.

The post-game: they only talked about Toronto. They should have been reminded of who won the game. They only showed one post-game interview, and it was of a Toronto player.

Again, Ottawa won the game.

Come on, Sportsnet.

Purchased a year-long subscription to watch the Yankees games. First four days I tried to watch, the games were blacked out.

Went to refund my subscription and find out it's final sale. They got $200 from me, but Rogers has lost a customer forever.

Mobile, internet, TV. I'm gone.
